For those of you who might be interested, Nell Fredericksen will be teaching a Stained Glass class at the Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Center through the Adult Education Program. Class sessions will be on three Saturdays in April, the 9th, 16th, and 23rd, from 9:00 a.m. - noon and 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. The fee for the class is $175, and there will be a $45.00 charge for all of the materials needed for the class. Lunch each day is included. If you want to sign up for this class, or know of anyone else who might be interested, please contact Beth Shively at bshively@ferrum.edu, or Betsy Smith at bsmith@ferrum.edu.

Amateur Art Show, May 21, 2005
Farmer's Market-Downtown Rocky Mount 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You are cordially invited to join us at our first annual art show that will showcase local artists' handiwork. The top three award winners will eligible to have their work displayed in Washington, DC during the National Children's Alliance Leadership Conference in June. Application forms and rules may be obtained from the Southern Virginia Child Advocacy Center located at 300 South Main Street or by calling 484-5566. Completed applications and fees must be received by May 16, 2005. Display area approximately 8x10. Artists may sell their work. Registration Fee-$25.00 for Adult Artists, $20.00 for Students 18 and under. This is a fundraiser for our agency that will enable us to provide services for abused and neglected children.
